The Schedule is as follows:
If you are planning on racing in any open class there WILL be a $5.00 charge to you as a driver. This will cover one driver and one crew member. Any other guest in the pit area will be charged $5.00. We invite all OPEN racers to join the USLMRA. This can be done at the track for $20.00. A USLMRA membership is not required for drivers in the OPEN divisions; however we will have applications on hand for those that would like to join. Along these same lines preregistration is not required but would be appreciated.
“Open” Class Rules:
Safety Gear:
* Every driver must wear an automobile racing or motorcycle-type full-face helmet approved by the U. S. Department of Transportation or the Snell Foundation. (New Jersey motor vehicle laws require the helmet to be SNELL AND DOT certified.) The helmet must fit snugly and be securely buckled when driver is on the track.
* Goggles or a face shield are required. Glasses are not adequate protection.
* All drivers must wear long pants, long sleeved shirt, neck brace, full-fingered gloves and leather over the ankle footwear on the track. Chest protectors and other anti-abrasive suits are highly recommended. No loose clothing on the track. Mower Rules: (Full rule book to follow soon)
* Mower must use lawn mower 4 cycle motor.
* Must have brakes that work mounted on the axle. No transaxle brakes permitted.
* Must have a commercially available working tethered kill switch.
* All throttle return must be double spring on the carburetor.
* No sharp or protruding unsafe sheet metal or objects.
* Tire choice must be lawn mower tires. No Snow Hog, tiller, A.T.V, or commercial mower tires.
* Bumpers are allowed but not required.
* Must have a deck.
* Must use pump or race fuel, no alcohol or methanol.
Classes will be determined upon full tech inspection of all “Open” class mowers. PALMRA officials will place mowers into similar classes based on build style, and engine size.
Race Day Decisions: All race day decisions made at the discretion of PALMRA officials will be communicated to the drivers as soon as possible so everyone has as level a playing field as possible.
